Misplaced

For my photography final, I had the opportunity to choose a topic and photograph it in whichever style I preferred from those we learned this semester. I was inspired by the feeling of being “misplaced” or out of the norm. While driving around the city of Detroit, I discovered numerous objects in locations where they wouldn’t typically be found. These became the subjects for my final project.

Using imagery as representative figures, I aimed to convey my perspective on certain aspects of how I viewed individuals. I believe that objects hold deeper meanings and can be interpreted in various ways, depending on the viewer's past experiences. With this in mind, I chose figures that are easily recognizable yet possess multiple meanings. I used the same figure twice to explore two different examples of how I could expand this project into more of a series.

For 30 days, I took photos of anything I could find. I posted them to Instagram and Facebook as a way to show off some of the new skills I had learned while using different cameras every day.
